Mental Health & Caregiving
Comprehensive Mental Health & Caregiving Support Services
At Viriya Community Services (VCS), we are dedicated to enhancing the mental wellness of individuals and families in our community by offering a wide range of integrated services that address both mental health challenges and caregiving needs. Through a holistic, multi-disciplinary approach, our team of specialists works together to provide the right level of support at every stage of the mental wellness journey. Our aim is to promote mental health, foster resilience, and ensure that individuals have access to the resources they need to live fulfilling, healthy lives.
Mental Health Services
We begin with mental health literacy and early identification through public education and mental health screening. By raising awareness about the importance of early intervention, we help individuals recognise signs of mental distress and take proactive steps to seek support before issues escalate. This preventative approach ensures that mental health challenges are addressed early, reducing the risk of more severe conditions.
For those who are experiencing early signs of mental distress—such as anxiety, stress, or mild emotional strain—we offer early intervention services. These services help individuals manage subclinical symptoms and prevent them from developing into more serious mental health conditions. This support can include counseling, psychoeducation, and coping strategies.
For individuals dealing with more significant mental health symptoms or those diagnosed with mental health disorders, we offer customised assessments and specialised interventions. Our services include individual therapy, psychological support, and step-down care for those transitioning from more intensive treatment back into the community. We ensure ongoing care that supports recovery, mental well-being, and long-term stability.

Caregiver Support
Recognising the important role of caregivers in the mental health journey, VCS also offers dedicated resources to support those who are providing care to loved ones. We provide caregiver counseling, stress management techniques, and information on caregiving resources to help caregivers navigate the challenges they face while maintaining their own well-being. Through support groups, psychoeducational workshops, and one-on-one guidance, we empower caregivers with the tools and knowledge they need to care for both themselves and their loved ones.
Comprehensive Community Support
In addition to individual and family mental health services, VCS is committed to fostering a strong, supportive community. We offer a range of community engagement programmes, such as monthly psycho-education talks, support groups, and wellness activities. These initiatives help build community cohesion, enhance mental health literacy, and provide individuals with opportunities to connect with others facing similar challenges. We also offer self-help resources and collaborative outreach efforts to ensure that mental health and caregiving support is accessible to all.
By combining mental health services with caregiver resources, we aim to create an integrated support system that helps individuals and families not only manage mental health challenges but also build the resilience and capacity to thrive. Whether through early intervention, long-term care, or community support, VCS is here to provide the care and resources needed to improve well-being and quality of life for all members of the community.
Additionally, we provide specialised support for families and children of parents with mental illness (PMIs), addressing their unique needs through targeted interventions and family-focused care, ensuring positive outcomes for both parents and children. Our services work in unison to offer a holistic approach, combining early intervention, ongoing support, and community engagement, ensuring every individual and family has the opportunity to thrive mentally and emotionally.
