Learn My Dialect
You can help to bridge the communication gap between senior citizens who are unable to speak English and Mandarin with the younger generation through conducting basic Hokkien and Cantonese classes to the young ones in our society.

Criteria for Volunteering: 
- Age 55 years and above 
- Able to read and speak basic English
- Able to speak Hokkien and/or Cantonese 

Swimming Classes Instructor
Help to engage senior citizens in healthy physical activities through swimming. 

Criteria for Volunteering: 
- Certified swimming coach
- Able to converse in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and/or Cantonese 
- Able to commit for 10 weekly lessons (approximately 3 months)

Karaoke Coordinators
Help to befriend senior citizens through weekly singing sessions and providing a safe environment for seniors to forge positive friendships. 

Criteria for Volunteering: 
- Passion in singing 
- Able to converse in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and/or Cantonese
- Able to commit for 1 day per week 

Basic English Teacher
Provide basic English lessons for senior citizens to facilitate communication with the younger generation. 

Criteria for volunteering: 
- Passion in engaging senior citizens  
- Able to converse in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and/or Cantonese
- Able to commit for 1 day per week 

Computer Class Teacher
Provide basic computer knowledge for senior citizens. 

Criteria for volunteering: 
- Passion in engaging senior citizens  
- Able to converse in English, Mandarin, Hokkien and/or Cantonese
- Able to commit for 1 day per week

Viriya-KK Children's Hospital HomeCare Programme

Befriender

Befrienders provide companionship and play activities for chronically ill children in their homes as well as children staying in the KK Women's and Children's Hospital. 

As a befriender, you bring joy and cheer to these children and their families. You can make a difference to their lives! 

What you can do as a Befriender: 
- Provide emotional support to assigned child and his/her family
- Interact with the child
- Get involved in play activities with the child
- Establish and maintain a close relationship with the child
- Help develop the child's self-confidence and self-esteem
- Provide support services for the family of the child
- Accompany the child at time to allow child's parents to take a breather, or help run essential errands for the family

Requirements of a Befriender: 
- 16 years old & above 
- Able to commit for 12 months 
- Able to conduct hospital visits fortnightly and home visits at least once a month
- Mature individuals with the passion to interact and play with children, preferably with some prior experience working with children

Centre Manager

- Minimum bachelor's degree or post-graduate diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Conversant in English and other languages
- Strong planning and analytical skills
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in a supervisory and service planning capacity
- Registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers

Senior Social Worker

- Minimum bachelor's degree or post graduate diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Conversant in English and other languages
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with a certificate in clinical supervision or equivalent
- Registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers

Social Worker

- Minimum bachelor's degree or post graduate diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
- Conversant in English and other languages
Registered with the Singapore Association of Social Workers
- Fresh graduates are welcomed
